Visit us at Source Fashion 2024

We are pleased to announce that Shirley® will once again be showcasing at Source Fashion, the UK’s leading fashion retail event. This event gathers the entire fashion supply chain under one roof, making it the go-to place for designers, fabric manufactures and technology and services, to discover new and responsible sourcing options from a diverse range of international organisations.

Shirley® is the official institute of the OEKO-TEX® Association in the UK, Kenya, South Africa and Singapore, ensuring trust and sustainability in textiles and leather.

With over a century of experience in textile testing and more than 25 years as an OEKO-TEX® member, Shirley® is at the forefront of sustainable and transparent certification. The textile industry has a long history of environmental and social challenges, and with the added pressure of consumers becoming increasingly conscious of the impact of their buying habits, this year we are focusing on protecting both human rights and the environment. To do this we are ensuring due diligence measures into companies’ management systems, testing textiles for harmful substances, and implementing environmentally friendly productions processes in the long term to improve health and safety and to promote socially responsible working conditions.

Head to the iconic Olympia, London on 14th-16th July where Shirley® experts Haydn Taylor and Francesca Walters will be at stand SF-D23 to assist with your queries on the OEKO-TEX® product portfolio and the testing and certification that we offer.

OEKO-TEX® standards enable everyone to make responsible decisions and protect natural resources. Three of the products that will be featured at Source Fashion are STANDARD 100®, MADE IN GREEN® and RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS®.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100®, is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products, from fibres through to finished garments. If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances.

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN® is a traceable product label for garments or textile items. A label bearing MADE IN GREEN® proves that the product has been tested for harmful substances and that it has also been manufactured in STeP certified facilities. The swing tag or garment label bares a QR code which details the entire life cycle of the product; communicating to the customer exactly how and where the textile item has been processed throughout the product’s lifecycle.

OEKO-TEX® RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS® is an independent certification system for brands, brand groups, retailers and traders of the textile and leather industry. RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS® enables a holistic consideration of due diligence measures into companies’ management systems. A certified OEKO-TEX® RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS company looks beyond its own operations and ensures high standards throughout its global supply chain.

We look forward to meeting you at Source Fashion!
